I have a G200 card that needs xfree 3.3.3, but slink ships
with 3.3.2.

Are there deb packages available for 3.3.3 somewhere? I've
tried making debs from Red Hat's rpm's (built for glibc 2.07)
but they don't work ...

I guess I could compile it from source, but that is a
last resort.

The XFree86 web page lists sights that have the distribution
and binaries. In particular, I did just what you want at
one point for the same reasons and got the required
binaries from the UMN site. You'll want the SVGA server
and perhaps xinit, xf86config, and the card database for
configuration purposes.

There are deb's at www.netgod.net/x. I believe it's also apt-able with:

deb http://www.netgod.net/ x/
