Very Computer

I'm having some weird things happening with XFree where at the start
of a session I can bring up a program such as xfontsel and I can
select a font from any of the menus, but after a while I run xfontsel
again and I cannot get any of the menu entries to highlight. This
behaviour exists in other X programs too (xfilemanager.)

I'm also seeing an oddity where some of the hot key bindings, such as
<Alt>+<F1> and <Alt>+<F3> just don't work after a while. I am running
fvwm and I modified the .fvwmrc file to make <Alt>+<F1> raise a window
and <Alt>+<F3> lower the window. The pressing of <Alt>+<Fn> key
results in the number(n) and a ~ being echoed to the window.

Finally, I'm also seeing a very strange things happening with netscape
1.1 and X running in 1024x768 screen resolution. When going to certain
URLs with background bitmaps and heavy graphics, X completely freezes.
I can see that the modem is still working (downloading image data,
etc.) The only recourse at this point is to hard reset the machine.
