Hello world,

does anybody got the ModeLines for the Samtron monitor SC-726 GXL
(XFree86 3.1.2)?

I tried to find out the times for the sync pulses but I only got
the 640x480 mode running which is not too satisfactory for this
equipment :-( .

Thank's in advance

I suppose your VGA card has a S3 chip.
If you use Xfree86 3.1.2 with the S3 server, using xf86config, you can
define the scanning frequencies of your monitor.
The frequencies are defined in the monitor's manual.

I have a Samtron SC-528UXL with a miro 12SD VGA (S3 TRIO32) card and all
modes works fine (with the S3 server Beta E).

Right so far. I have a MiroCRYSTAL 20 SV (other Monitor)
and had to add
Ramdac "bt485"
Option "dac_8_bit"
Option "s3_964_bt485_vclk"  (i don't know exactly, but it was
recommended by the S3-server after i
                             added the other lines)
to the device-section. When turning on power on your system,
the card should give some information on it's chipset (my card does).
Maybe that helps.

Greetings, Dirk
