XFree and STB Nitro 64

XFree and STB Nitro 64

Post by edham.. » Tue, 07 Jan 1997 04:00:00

I have recently acquired a Pentium based PC (second hand) on which I plan on installing Linix and X.
The PC is equiped with a STB Nitro 64 SVGA adaptor with 2Mb of Vid Ram installed.

I have complete specifications for this card - it is based on the Cirrus Logic 5434 chipset, and supports
non-interlaced resolutions up to 1280x1024 and refresh rates up to 75Hz.

Has anyone had experience using this board with XFree86?

Please relate your experiences...

1. STB Nitro 64 3D w/ S3 ViRGE/GX

Hello.  I don't know how many times this question has been asked, or if it
has been asked, but I would like to know if there is support for the S3
ViRGE/GX chipset?!  I can't seem to find any, and I would really like to
get X to run.  I have an STB Nitro 64 3D w/ 4mb VRAM.  If you know of
ANYWHERE I can get an X server from, please let me know!  If there aren't
any, will there be support sometime soon?  Thanks for your time!
