I've finally got Xwindows working on my linux box (only took me an hour) but
whenever the term windows open i always get the same error..
"_setutent:can't open utmp file"
Someone please help :)

1. _setutent: Can't open utmp file: No such file or directory - Help!
Have been doing some upgrading from gcc2.5.8 to gcc2.6.3 (including libraries)
and have suddenly been getting the above error message in pairs about every
minute. The utmp file in /var/adm is -rw--r--r-- while the symlink in /etc is ;rwxrwxxrwx
(ie it appears to be writeable by root)
any suggestions?
