Help! Mouse cursor problem in X windows

I've installed X windows (XFree86 3.1.1), and the mouse cursor doesn't seem
defined---all I get are three vertical lines for a pointer. Everything
else seems to work fine. I'm using a CrystalScan 1024 NI monitor with a
CLGD5430 chipset.

Any idea what the problem is? Any help would be appreciated.

I just installed the Andrew package and there is an annoying problem
with the mouse cursor. It's transparent. I've tried to change the
colors and nothing helps. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?
