1. Cant open mouse?

I seem to have a mouse problem that not many people can answer as of yet..

I have a PS/2 type mouse and have stated so in xf86config but when I "startx"
the screen does some gyrations and then goes back to $ saying that this:

Fatal error
Cannot open mouse

Does anyone have any ideas?

I have checked all the books.. but nothing that speaks to this...

I can startx by using gpm -k and the X will start however the mouse is stuck
in the upper right hand corner and X doesnt work right

Thanks

Lyle
