ESS AudioDrive 1868 soundcard

Post by gheis » Wed, 20 Aug 1997 04:00:00

i have found a way to get this soundcard to work in 8 bit mode using the
generic SB driver in slack 3.3 but it sounds awful, i was wondering if
anyone knows how to get a card like this to work better. specifically
any other 1868 users out there who have gotten their cards to work
without a bunch of popping and static

I have a ESS1868 PnP AudioDrive sound card.  I don't know how to make my
sound card work under Linux kernel 2.0.32.  I have downloaded the
isapnptools 1.9 and follow the instruction but it does not work too.  I
compile the sound as a module.  Does the latest kernel support my sound
card?  If you have any suggestion, please let me know.  Thank you.
