Best Video Card under $80 for LINUX

So, what is the best video card for LINUX I could get for ~$80 street
price (like on http://www.pricewatch.com or something) the will be LINUX
compatable, work well with XFree86 (or some Xserver I can get my hands
on), that will drive a Viewsonic 17" monitor (e771?) in 32bit color at
10x7 or greater?

Any suggestions?  :)

Well, I don't know about best, but for $55 at Fry's I got a "Da Vinci" card
(s3 virge chip)  ... seems to work fine. 4mb vram, rh 5 configs it just
fine, and you get 24 bit color at 1024 (i think that's it...don't quote me
on that)

I got the exact same card.

It works great.

I'm using the XFree86 S3V server, but I'm told I'd get even
better results with the XFree86 SVGA server.  xf86config told me
to use it, I just didn't believe it...

That's tonight's project:  download XFree86-3.3.2 and try the
SVGA server on that machine.  Then swap that card into the P60
and put my Trident 975 card in the P400 and see if that works
out.

Maybe the Virge it will actually use a bit-depth of 32 with
the XF86_SVGA server.  I tell it 32 now but it uses 24 (at
least, if xwininfo can be trusted...)

I would go for Matrox Mystique II 4MB SGRAM. Sparten technologies, Inc.
sells one for $65. :^)

1. Best Video Card under $80

I see video cards have really droped in price lately, but I havn't seen a
lot of the new 4 to 8 meg cards show up on any of the "supported hardware"
lists.

What is a good card to push a 17" monitor at 32bpp running 10x7 or better
that someone has had success with runing LINUX?
