Red Hat 7.3 + SCSI adapter: AHA-2930U or DC-390U2B

Hi all,

Selecting a SCSI adapter for RH 7.3 is a moving target.

I noticed that the SCSI adapter AHA-2930U is not in the Red Hat 7.3
database but is in the Red Hat 7.2 database. Also, the DC-390F is listed

but... is not manufactured anymore.

Only a few PCI SCSI adapters are listed as compatible
in the RH 7.3 database and not a single one from Adaptec!

All I need is a PCI ultra-SCSI adapter (or better) thus, I narrowed down
my choices to:

   - DC-390U2B (or 390U2W) with RH 7.3 (I'm assuming it might work since
the
same chipset was used in the DC-390F).

   - AHA-2930U with RH 7.3 ( I'm assuming the driver is very similar to
the RH 7.2 driver)

So please let me know if you succesfully used one of these
adapters with RH 7.3 or if you think that my assumptions are false.

Any other pointers are welcomed too!

Thanks!

Marie-France

The 2930U is listed as 293x and supported by both aic7xxx and aic7xxx_old
modules in 7.3.

Yes, but it is for an alpha-based system.
Mine is a x86-based system. (Sorry, for not being specific enough)

Thanks!

If you need really good performance and two SCSI channels on one card,
go for the LSI53C1010 chip based cards, like the lsi22915a card.
