1. Software to control HP SureStore Tape 12000e Autoloader?

I have an HP SureStore Tape 12000e.  This is a DDS-2 tape drive with an auto
loader for 6 DAT tapes.  Does anybody have any software already written that
can control this unit - change tapes, etc.?  A utility called mtx ships with
it but only in compiled binary form and linux isn't one of the supported os's.
Or, does anybody know where I can find documentation so I can write up the
utility myself?
