Anyone install the RedHat 5.0 distribution on a IBM Thinkpad 770 (the
one with a 14.1 screen)? If so, would love to hear your experience.
Thanks.

No experience, but SuSE lists that chipset as one which works withQuote:>Anyone install the RedHat 5.0 distribution on a IBM Thinkpad 770 (the

1. X support for IBM Thinkpad 770 and Toshiba Tecra 750CDT
We newly bought an IBM ThinkPad 770 (Trident CYBER9397/64-bit SVGA
accelerator/2MB SGRAM/83MHz PCI 2.1/32-bit/external SVGA to 1280x1024 with
256 colors) and a Toshiba Tecra 750CDT (S3 ViRGE?/MX). As XFree86 3.3.1 does
not support either display chipset yet, does anybody know that,
1. Is there any commercial vendor for Linux X drivers which support these 2
display chipsets?
2. Can I manually change XF86Config to simulate older chip? E.g., I tried to
use 'ChipSet cyber938x' for the IBM, X runs but it seems the memory
segmentation has problem thus one point is displayed at several parts in the
screen. Any suggestions?
3. When will the next version XFree86 possibly released?
Thanks,
Weiyi Yang
