Anyone have any idea which boot image I should use for a Satellite
205cds? I tried bare.i using rawrite.
I'm having a bit of trouble getting X up and running. I've installed
from Slackware 3.0 (from the Linux Developer's Resource disk set),
upgraded my kernel from 1.2.13 to 2.0.11, picked up a server for my
chipset (ct65550, from ftp://ftp.rp.csiro.au/people/dbateman/ct65550 -
I'm on a Toshiba 500CDT laptop) and created an /etc/XF86Config.
However, when I try startx I get the following.
XFree86 Version 3.1.2 / X Window System
(protocol Version 11, revision 0, vendor release 6000)
Operating System: Linux
SVGA: server for 8-bit colour SVGA (Patchlevel 0):
ct65520, ct65530, ct65540, ct65545, ct65546, ct65548, ct65550,
(using VT number 7)
(**) stands for supplied, (--) stands for probed/default values
(**) Mouse: type: PS/2, device: /dev/mouse, baudrate: 1200
(**) SVGA: Graphics device ID: "ct65550"
(**) SVGA: Monitor ID: "T500CDT"
TRANS(SocketUNIXConnect) () can't connect: errno = 111
xinit: Connection refused (errno 111): unable to connect to X server
xinit: No such process (errno 3): Server error.
I'm no X wizard so can anyone here point me in the right direction.
