Hello. This scanner (Hewlett-Packard Scanjet 5300c) is fully supported by
SANE and was working perfectly with SuSE 10.0. Now, with 10.1, it does not
work at all. sane-find-scanner and lsusb detect it, but not Avision driver
from SANE. The output of dmesg indicates an error in configuration at he
kernel level. I am very upset with this problem: After years of
workarounds starting with SUSE 8.2, YaST was able to install the scanner
smoothly in 9.3 and 10.0. Now I am at the beginning again. I posted this in
Novell and other SUSE forums, but nobody replied:
