I have following problem:
* Compaq Deskpro 5166
* 3com's 3c503 etherned card
* Linux Caldera
When I transfer large files I get a lot of following error messages to
/var/log/messages
eth0: Interrupted while interrupts were masked!
Does anyone have idea why these messages keep coming up.

1. eth0: Interrupted while interrupts are masked!isr=0x2 imr=0x0.
Does anybody know why I would get the above error from the kernel? I'm
using dual PII with 2.1.81 right now, but I have seen the message with
all recent 2.1 kernels. I also get
eth0: Too much work at interrupt, status 0x01
I have seen this last one also with an 486 with 2.0 kernels for at
least a year. The LAN is big and congested and the
eth0: Interrupted while interrupts are masked!isr=0x2 imr=0x0
error appears when there is a lot of traffic to/from the machine,
e.g. transferring large files.
My netstat -i looks strange too:

The amount of errors seems excessive. However, the machine never
crashes (months of uptime), and doesn't seem to lose packets. It works
very well indeed, but I'm nervous about the error messages since this
is going to be a heavy duty server.
