NCR53c810 SCSI on-board a PSD-486 motherboard (saturn chipset) -> crash... ?

Hi,
I would appreciate if anyone could help me with this.
I'm trying to run Linux with the NCR53c810 SCSI adapter
on-board a PSD-486 motherboard (Version 1.12) with the
intel Saturn chipset.

At boot time (Debian 1.3.1 r6 / kernel 2.0.29 ) I get the following
message:
     pcibios_init : BIOS32 Service directory structure at 0x000fc0e0
     pcibios_init : BIOS32 Service directory entry at 0xfc3f0
     pcibios_init : PCI BIO revision 2.00 entry at 0xfc410

The message I see from the BIOS at boot time is:

NCR SDMS (TM) V3.0 53C810 SCSI BIOS PCI Rev.2.0
  Copyright 1993 NCR Corporation
  PCI20-3.01.04

and on the chip I can read the following identification:

  ncr53c810 PT
  609-0391399
  XR02914
  933 IN

Does anybody know what is going on?
I checked the HOWTOS (PCI, bootprompt and haven't seen
any special advice about this). Before I try to dig into
.../linux/pci.c driver (I am not C guru), I wanted to ask
for any hint.

Thanks in advance,

You need an upgrade of the NCR SDMS BIOS to at least 3.06.00 or later.
The version you are using is 3.01.04.

1. Intel Saturn chipset for 486 (w linux) ???

Hello all,

Does any of you have any comments on the Intel Saturn chipset for
486 DX/DX2 m.boards (PCI/ISA only with 4x72 simm slots)?
Boards come with NCR scsi built-in + IDE +multi I/O.
Have you had any problems using such a board?
Does the NCR 810 scsi work with no problems?
Which version(s) should I look for? (chipset + bios)

I will need to use it with linux/dos/windows/os2/nt.

Please reply via personal e-mail.

Thanks in advance,
Angelo
