Primary Rate ISDN Card support for Linux

Primary Rate ISDN Card support for Linux

Post by Sean.Cough.. » Fri, 24 May 1996 04:00:00

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could help determine if there is support for Primary
Rate ISDN cards under Linux (e.g. Device drivers).  Current drivers seem to
support Basic Rate ISDN cards only.  Are there any PRI card manufacturers
producing drivers for Linux ?

Thanks in advance,
Regards, Sean Coughlan.

I know Ascend has a product called the Ascend 400 (I believe).  I
think that their web site is www.ascend.com.  I'm currently using the
Ascend Pipeline 50 for my BRI ISDN.  It is a router also, so you don't
need device drivers.

Yes.  The Ascend Pipeline 400 is available in multiple configuration.
One of the is 4-BRI-S/T, (the one were are using www.rvo.qc.ca) and comes
w/ 4 BRI S/T interface.  Another one is the PRI which comes w/ one PRI
interface. You can order it with option ethernet hub.  Our unit use
one some of the B channel to route to the Internet and the others for
remote users w/ Pipeline 25 bridges.

No device drivers, pure ethernet.  Works very well.
