Hello,
I'm having trouble setting up my ethernet card...
I have an Intel EtherExpress Pro/10 card connected to a Pentium running
Slackware version 3.1 (kernel is version 2.0.0). I am using the default
kernel (IDE support only) that gets installed when you install disk set
A. Ethernet card support gets loaded at boot-up time by uncommenting a
line in the /etc/rc.d/rc.modules file. The result is that on boot-up,
the Ethernet card gets detected (address and IRQ found OK), but when I
try to telnet, ftp, etc., nothing happens -- the machine just seems to
hang (but it can ctrl-c it).
I've run the netconfig program to set up my machine IP address, name
server IP address, etc. also.
I am certain that my ethernet card is hooked up properly, because I can
connect to the network when I run off my DOS/Windows 3.1 partition.
Any help here is greatly appreciated!
Mike
