Very Computer

Hi all : )

I have an Epson  Stylus Colour 640 running on my SuSE Linux 6.2, kernel
2.2.10 (wicked distro! ;)) and I was wondering if anybody has actually
had any sucess in finding  and using any dedicated linux drivers for
this printer?............

I am currently using the stylus 600 drivers that are setup in YaST, but
I cannot utilise the full 1440x720 resolution with these and it takes an
age for it to print a full A4 page picture.........literally 45 minutse
(bah!).

Any help or advice would be greatly received :)

You might try sending some of the options to ghostscript. I have a
Stylus 600 and mine prints slow too. I did manage to get 720x720 output
though. SuSE 6.2 uses ghostscript 5.10. You may have better luck
compiling ghostscript from source and trying that. I had to do that on
older versions of redhat.
