I just recently bought a Quantum Fireball ST2.1S scsi drive to attach
to my AHA-2930. The kernel and scsi bios detect it fine, but it never
assigns it to sda!
I've been looking through all the HOWTOs and I haven't had any luck
except that I might not have my device files right. However, they all
match up, being block devices with an 8 major and 0-8 minor
respectively. I'm just sure I'm doing something stupid. They only other
thing on the controller is a HP Scanner, and it doesn't help if I remove
it. The drive is internal, and the scanner is obviously external. Both
are terminated. Anyway, here is the kernel messages on boot and the info
out of /proc. If you have any pointers at all I'd really appreciate it.
