by Here's another attempt to find an answer...Hopefully someone who has
gone before can assist me in getting things working.
I'm attempting to install Slackware 2.3.0 on a Comtrade PCI SCSI
Win-Station obtained specifically for this purpose. It has a PA-2000
motherboard using the VIA VT82C570MV chipset and Award BIOS.
The motherboard has an on-board IDE controller, and a P54C 3.3V 75 MHz
Pentium CPU. and a single 16MB SIMM. The PCI NCR SCSI adapter is in
slot PCI1, and is jumpered for level trigger on INTRA#. The video
controller is a 64-bit PCI Diamond Stealth 64 (2MB) DRAM installed in
PCI3.
The system works fine with DOG/Windoze...but using the SlackWare 2.3.0
bootdisk1.44 'scsinet2' (which supports the NCR controller), the
system locks up after discovering one host.

Then it locks. The drive light stays bright, but there's no
indication of drive activity (I can't feel any characteristic
vibration, as in head movement), and nothing further happens.
