SMC 9232 Fast Ethernet (EISA)

SMC 9232 Fast Ethernet (EISA)

Hi,

Does anyone know whether the SMC 9232 EISA adapter will work
with Linux?  I couldn't find any detailed information (used
chipset, etc.) so far.  One of our customers has this card
and he says he can't find a DEC chip on it, so I dount it
will work.

Thanks,

1. SMC 10/100 9232 EISA Slow Tranfers Solaris 2.6

I have a couple of HP Netservers running Solaris 2.6.  I am using SMC
9232 10/100 EISA Ethernet cards.  Solaris provides drivers for these
cards but I am getting very slow transfer rates, about 600 to 650
K/sec.  I recall in 2.51 on the Sparc platform I had to force the HME
card into Full duplex mode.
Does anyone have experience with these cards and Solaris 2.6 for Intel.
If so any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Mike Geldart
