I am looking to get a new modem and would be geting a 56k-flex. Any
recommendations for a good one that works well with linux (and win95)?

get a Zoom i have one.
works great with LInux Win95 and Win NT
has a zillion jumpers

I just got a Harmony 56k-flex internal modem for $69. Installed easily
(non-PnP) and works great.

I went out and bought a Best Data K56 Modem (non-PNP) and it works
terrific. They're even promising v.90.
