does any one know how to get a 100Meg zip drive on a parallel port to work
in red hat linux 6.0

Take a look at the Mini-HOWTO found at the Linux Documentation Project.
You can skip the configuring a kernel part since RH 6.0 should have the
SCSI support in the stock kernel.

In the 'Quick Start' section Matt points you to I used the first four
instructions under 'Now to use the drive' and mine started working
immediately.  I'm using Suse 8.0
