HP Deskjet 855c colors messed up - suggest better printer perhaps?

Post by B. Walk » Tue, 12 Feb 2002 23:19:34

I've searched the groups and tried a bunch of things to get my HP
Deskjet 855C color printing straightened out (colors way off).

I'm currently using CUPS and Foomatic.  I've tried foomatic drivers
and others, with no success.

I'm considering updgrading to a Postcript printer, any suggestions?
Alternately, any suggestions for getting this one to work properly?

Thanks.

Best bet is to use the ghostcript cdj850 driver.  Do not use the
gimp-print stuff with this printer.

I had some success with the HP supplied drivers:
http://hpinkjet.sourceforge.net/

However, (and I can't remember why... I think it SEGV'd on me one
time).... I switched back to using the cdj850 driver.

Thanks, I'll give those a try.  I've tried gimp-print with no luck either.
