Back on Feb. 1 or so, I reported to this newsgroup that I was having
trouble getting an IBM Model 7207-001 scsi-1 tape drive to work with
my Linux system. I am happy to report back that this tape drive
(equivalent to a Tandberg Model tdc3600) is now working just fine.
The tape drive started working when I upgraded the kernel to 2.2.3 and
my system software to Debian 2.1 (slink). Nothing else special was
done other than to compile scsi tape capability into the kernel. I am
using mt and tar to operate the tape drive.
