(parallel connected)?

There is a very detailed set of HOWTO documents on using
a zip drive. Look in /usr/doc/HOWTO/mini then read the document
'ZIP-Install'

Yes, you need to add ppa module via kernelcfg

Yes, it will. If you recompile the kernel to include PPA as a low level
scsi driver then you can even attach scsi devices to the zip-drive. I've
got a zip-plus myself and it works just dandy.

Compile Kernel w/ ScsiSupport, PPA(lowlevel drv), SCSI disks !
