I have an Aureal Vortex-based PCI sound card. Lovely card... But it
doesn't seem to have native support in any version of Linux. I did
get an e-mail from the TurboLinux guys, and I quote:
the sound card, not yet (well, if you want to patch the 2.0.x
kernel, it will work) -- until the release of the 2.2.0 kernel, which
will be 'soon', or so I've heard :)
So. Anyone have any success with "patching the kernel" to make it
work? Is this a viable option? Any other suggestions or suggested
reading?
Gracias,
Ben
