parallel cd-rw "device or resource busy"

parallel cd-rw "device or resource busy"

Hi, I've recently just gotten all the modules to load for my
MicroSolutions Backpack CD-RW, but have had quite a bit of trouble
finding documentation on the CD-writer, rather than the plain CD-ROM.  I
am able to load the parport, paride, bpck6, and pg modules (the pg one
took some extra parameters, which were rather a pain to figure out).  I
can also load the pcd module, and mount the device on /cdrom.  But, when
I attempt to do a cdrecord -scanbus this is the output I get: "cdrecord:
Device or resource busy. Cannot open '/dev/pg0'. Cannot open SCSI
driver."  I can't think of anything that would be tying up the drive, so
am rather stumped.  Right now I am loading the pg module by: "modprobe
pg drive0=0x290,0,19".  I know there are extra parameters one can add at
the end as well, but don't know much about them, and don't know if they
would rectify the problem anyways.

Thanks in advance,

Janina

1. Linksys/tulip: "Device or resource busy"

I have read through the many messages in this newsgroup about EtherFast
10/100 support, and a couple of references to this message, but no
explanation of what it means or how to fix it.

I just installed a new LinkSys PCI EtherFast 10/100 model LNE100TX
version 4.0. When I attempt insmod tupip (or modprobe eth0 with "alias
eth0 tulip.o" in conf.modules) I always get this message, followed by
"insmod failed".

I also tried using de4x5 and got the same message.

Here is what I see in /proc/pci:

  Bus  0, device  13, function  0:
Ethernet controller: Unknown vendor Unknown device (rev 17).
      Vendor id=1317. Device id=985.
Medium devsel.  Fast back-to-back capable.  IRQ 10.  Master
Capable.  Latency=66.  Min Gnt=255.Max Lat=255.
      I/O at 0xf800 [0xf801].
      Non-prefetchable 32 bit memory at 0xffbefc00 [0xffbefc00].

/proc/interrupts shows no entry for 10.

I'm using the compiled tulip.o that comes with RedHat 6.2 (kernel
2.2.14).

Any hints on what to do would be much appreciated.
