hi.

I finally got my modem to work. the only problem now is that when i
issue the ATDT command and then log in to my ISP and then try to exit
without resetting ( Ctrl-Q ) it gives me a bunch of jibberish and then gives
me NO CARRIER.
Also whenever i want to use my modem i have to reconfigure my modem with
setserial everytime.
Can you please help me ? please ....

ok ... i fixed it. i had to edit the /etc/rc.d/rc.local file and install

/bin/setserial /dev/cua1 irq 3
/bin/setserial /dev/cua1 uart 16550A

depending on what devices you want installed will alter your outcome
this took care of the repititious problem

the second was that i was trying to use minicom as a ppp tool and that is no
luck. it just doesnt work.
