DDS3 drive on linux

Post by David van der Spoe » Thu, 12 Mar 1998 04:00:00

Hi

I want to hook a HP DDS3 DAT drive (SCSI) to my linux box. When I use
DDS2 tapes it works fine, but with DDS3 tapes it does not respond when
I do (for eaxample) tar t
mt status complains about unknown density code (0x25)

Any clues?

I am using a Seagate DDS-3 drive without incident.  Are you positive
you're using a 125m tape?  Is this a new drive?  Have you tried cleaning
the heads?
