CD-RW doesn't work at Redhat 7.0 with 2.2.16-22

Hi all,
I have a IDE CD-RW and the linux kernel reports these error to me:

       ATAPI device hdc:
Error: Not ready -- (Sense key=0x02)
       (reserved error code) -- (asc=0x3a, ascq=0x02)
The failed "Read Cd/Dvd Capacity" packet command was:
       "25 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 "

When I want to mount the cdrom and errors occurs:

mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/cdrom,
or too many mounted file systems
(aren't you trying to mount an extended partition,
instead of some logical partition inside?)

Could anyone help me? Thank you very much!

Regards,
Sean

I'm very new to linux, so I may be totally wrong here, but I know I had to
use SCSI emulation to use a CDRW on my Suse 7.1 box.

1. Netgear FA311 under redhat 7.0 (linux kernel 2.2.16-22)

Hi,
I'm trying to setup a samba server on a linux machine in my network.
unfortanately, the linux machine can't find the fa311 card (eth0). insmod
works correctly, but outputs I/O: 0 IRQ: 255. and ping says network not
accessible. the fa311 isn't on redhats hcl (hardware.redhat.com/hcl), but
netgear says its supported. Has anyone solved this problem?
Thanks,
Matt
