Digital camera

Hello,

I have a digital camera: Kodak DC25. To download the pictures to my
desktop and Laptop, I do it so far under Windows95 with the vendor's
software, PhotoEnhancer from PictureWorks. This software can work under
Windows 3.1 as well. Now, I just installed Linux.

1. Can I connect to my camera by the serial port, and download the
pictures to my desktop? How?

2. The pictures I get after download are unfortunately in "Kodak"
format, something like "image01.k25". To translate that format to .jpg
for instance, I use PhotEnhancer again. How can I manage that operation
under Linux? I understood that some Windows 3.2 software may work under
Linux. Is it the best solution?

Thanks
Olivier

go to www.linuxapps.com

get jcam under hardware/camera catagory

It is written in Java.  I had to download a new java engine but the
program worked excellent with
my Olmpus D500L
so to 1. the answer is yes.  to 2. this saved the images in jpeg format.

Hi!

I have been searching some time now for a driver for my digital camera
Stinger Pro(Planetview) from videolabs.com  They have drivers for all
other platforms of course, not for my favorite one, Linux.

I have looked at the programs on www.linuxapps.com/hardware/cameras, but
didnt find anything that matches my camera. If anyone have any ideas or
maybe got it to work with an existing driver, please let me know.
