Diamond Stealth II S220 and XFree86

Post by Jeff Cavin » Sat, 06 Jun 1998 04:00:00

I installed Redhat Linux 5.0 on my system the other night and the only video
mode I can get is 640x480 with XFree86_VGA16.  Is there any way to get this
card working at a higher resolution and color with the XFree86_SVGA server?

Thanks,
Jeff Cavins

That will be verry hard, you might get up to 800x600. What you realy need is
the Xfree86_S3 (i guess Diamond is using the S3 chipset). THis will get you
up to the limit of your video card or display, whichever comes first.

When all else fails, read the instructions.

The Stealth II uses a Rendition chipset and it isn't supported
in XFree86.  So 640x480 with the 16 color VGA server is the best
he's expected to do.
