XFree86 config for HP Vectra ?

Post by Stan Bro » Mon, 14 Oct 1996 04:00:00

Could someone pleas give me some hnts on this? Everything
that I have tried so far has just caused the computer to reboot
when I start X.

Them mahcinein queston is a Vectra 5/90 with the older bios.
That's the one with the visible checklist instead of the newer one
with just the hoizontal bar graph during system start up.
Bios claims that I have 1 Meg of memory, and can do 1280 x 1024.
My monitor will do  this. I can't even get plain old VGA to
work here.

Help.

1. XFree86 config for HP Vectra ?

Does anyone have XFree86 running on a HP Vectra. All my efforts
so far (even using the 16 color server) have resulted in crashing the
computer (as in it rebooting when I start X).

I acquired the machine in a trade, so I don't have a manual,
bit It's a 5.90 I believe. THEORETICALLY, I should be able to get up
to 1280 x 1024 (yes I have a monitor that will do it). I would really
like to get this going.

If anyone can give me any pointers (especially a working config
file) I would be very appreciative.

Thanks.
