Any Quad speed CD-ROM drives to avoid?

Hi all - I'm thinking about getting a quad speed CD-ROM drive with
my new computer, which I'm planning to run Linux and X on. Are
there any problems associated with quad speed drives in general
under linux, or any models/brands to avoid?

ps. Should I be checking somewhere else for hardware compatibility info,
