Driver for modem Aztek MR2800

Dear all,

I have difficulties getting my modem to work. It's an Aztek MR2800
(build-in), drivers are available frm smlink.com (slmdm-1.99-4.XXXX).

Following the readme file I tried to compile the source-RPM, but that
did not work:

Installiere slmdm-1.99-4.src.rpm
Executing(%prep):

However, included in the zip file was a second file, which I presume
is a compiled version of the source-rpm. This I tried to install, but
also without success:

depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/misc/slamrmo.o depmod:

/lib/modules/misc/slmdm.o depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in
/lib/modules/misc/slsrv.o depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in
/lib/modules/misc/slv90.o

I hope that someone can point me into the right direction. I am
working with SuSE Linux 7.2, standard out-of-the-box installation...

Thanks a lot, Philipp Maier

1. Modem Riser AMR Aztech MR2800-w installation

Hi,
I have the Linux-Mandrake 8.0 with kernel 2.4.3
I have an AMR riser modem called Aztech MR2800-w
I've installed the driver that I've found on SmartLink site,
and all seems to work but... when I try to connect with kppp
it tells me that the modem is busy. So I've changed the port of the modem
and
try "/dev/modem" instead of "/dev/tty3" (or something like this) but there
always
the message "modem busy".
So I've tried to launch manually the driver by typing "./load_slmdm" as
the manual says. But nothing to do, always "modem busy" message appears.
I don't know what to do, and I am not  practice in kernel compiling.

Thanks in advance.
Galerio
