This is kind of strange.
What serial port you use? With what interrupt? What's the output of
setserial -g /dev/ttyS*   and    cat /proc/interrupts?
What protocol does your mouse speak?

Also, you can try to investigate your mouse with XF86Setup.

1. Trouble finding mouse in Linux 2.0.0

After installing linux 2.0.0 on a new machine, I am having trouble
getting the system to recognize the mouse. There is nothing wrong with
the mouse, as it runs under Win95 (duh).

Anyway, I have done the "usual" test, testing the mouse settings under
both XFree and gpm, but both programs fail. The device I am using is
psaux (as it is a ps2 connector interface, and the documentation says it
is a ps2 interface), but I have tried other settings as well (busmouse).

/dev/psaux exists ok, but both XFree and gpm says the device does not
exists. Just for fun I tried running gpm with cua0 instead, and then it
loads (but does not work of course). I have tried to "rebuild" the psaux
device by running MAKEDEV busmice, but it still does not work.

Yes, I have checked the settings with symlinks etc. (psmouse and mouse
both point to psaux).

Any suggestions??
