new graphics cards

Hi,
I have a new PII system which came with an AGP graphics card. I am
running RedHat 4.2, XFree-3.2, and AccelX v. 4.1. I don't have support
for the AGP so I would like to get another PCI graphics card to use
until there is good support for the AGP card.  Also, I have a 19 inch
monitor and would like to do 1280x1024 24 bit.  Anyone have a
combination of graphics card and 19 or bigger monitor which you are
*very* happy with.

TIA,
 -sen

If you check the Red Hat web site they have a list of all the supported
cards,
try Image nine II with 8Mb ram it should fit your needs.

1. READ THIS: XFree86 with new graphics cards...

I just finished setting up my Linux box (P166 - 32 RAM - Mach64 CT w/2 MB DRAM)
and had a real adventure trying to set up XFree86 (I couldn't get anything to
come up). After a little searching and asking around, the answer was so obvious.

Upgrade to X11R6 3.1.2D (ftp://ftp.xfree86.org/pub/XFree86/3.1.2D/Linux)
available in both ELF and a.out.

Install all but display drivers. Get newest display driver for your system from
ftp://ftp.xfree86.org/pub/XFree86/3.1.2E/Linux

After I did that, running xf86config was a breeze (no system hangs) and everything
works great.
