ARA131CA Controller with RAID1: Problems !

Has anybody successfully install an ADAPTEC ara-131 SCSI controller with
RAID1 ? I got the RAID configured through ADAPTEC setup utility, but I
still see two drives and after installtion of 2.0.33 I can't boot the
system (Compaq Prosignia 200). Only a floppy is able to boot the kernel.

Any hint highly welcome.
