Twinhead Slimnote 9 - Xfree86 ?

Post by lapin.. » Sat, 22 Mar 1997 04:00:00

I am looking for some feedback regarding XFree86/Linux and Slimnote 9.
I belive Slimnote 9 has a Trident video controller. I am not sure though.
Any other suggestions for a decent notebook for Linux/Xfree86?

1. Linux and Slimnote 9T Twinhead Notebook

Hi people,

I have a notebook whose brand is Twinhead and i have problems getting
X-windows to work on my laptop. I have installed RedHat 5.0 into the system.
The shell works fine, it is just the X. It has detected the display card and
a SVGA library is installed. Although the probes were successful, the system
did not start after that . It just hang there. I won't mind using any
distribution and i hope that u could help me out in this. Anyway, my laptop
configurations is as follows.

Intel Pentium 166MMX
48MB RAM
2.1 Gb Toshiba Hard Disk
20x EIDE CD-ROM
12.1" DSTN
56kpbs Internal modem

Thanx for the help and i really look forward for your reply. Sorry for
the inconvenience caused.

Regards,
jason
