sony 20se or sony 20sfII for about $2000

or

nanoa fx-21 for about $3500

or

viewsonic for about $1600

which of these or others do you recommend. I will get accelerated X
and either a #9 imagine or matrox millenium graphics card.

I also hope to use such things as autocad and photoshop.

    Nanao, and stay away from the Matrox ... last I heard X won't support
   due to non-disclosure-agreement requirement ...

That's not true: it's only XFree86 which doesn't support the Matrox;
you'd need to get a commercial version, whose cost ($100) shouldn't
bother you at all if you're buying that kind of equipment :-)
