video compression boards

video compression boards

Post by Jeffrey Mark Siski » Sat, 14 Jan 1995 23:40:30

Can anybody tell me which, if any, video compression boards are supported
under linux. I'd like to capture from a camera to disk with resolution

just so long as there exists software to decompress the stored sequence
offline to a sequence of pixmaps. I also don't need video display, just
capture to disk.

Ideally, I'd like to attach this to some laptop so some indication of whether
or not this is possible, which laptops this is possible with, and what kind of
interface/docking station is needed would be helpful.

    Thanks in advance,

P.S. Please send response by email. There is so much traffic on this newsgroup
that I might miss the reply.

1. Problem With On-board Video Card For Intel Desktop Board D865GBF

Hi,

Has anybody managed to install Debian on the Intel Desktop Board
DB865GBF Motherboard and successfully run either Gnome, KDE or X
Windows?

When attempting to run one of these I get errors due to incorrect
specifications of the graphics card.

If so could you please let me know the settings.  I've tried every
setting under the sun with no success.

Cheers,
Matt
