I wonder if there is a driver for the Iomega Zip Zoom SCSI card for my
ZIP drive ?

Anyone heard about it ?

The Adaptec 152X driver should work, but it won't autoprobe (i.e.,
you'll need to specify  parameters to insmod or LILO). Check the SCSI
HOWTO for more details.

It's part of your software !There are at least a couple of ways to install
it.
Recompile your kernel and make sure you set up SCSI support for disk
drives. Then find out your card parameters and add an append line to your
lilo.conf file.
i.e. append="aha152x=0x340,11,7"
Of course use your own parameters!
Run lilo and give it a try.
There is also a line in a makefile in the usr/src/linux/scsi directory
that you can edit to pass proper parameters to the kernel make process
that works quite well. If you want to try this e-mail me and I'll get the
specifics from my home computer. There was a posting several weeks back on
dejanews.com that had the specifics and it works fine and dandy. I used it
with SuSE 5.2 (2.0.35 kernel) and RedHat 5.1 (2.0.34) and it worked
flawlessly with the ZipZoom card (Adaptec no-BIOS SCSI card).

1. Iomega SCSI Zip drive and Zip Zoom card

Hello All,

I have a Zip Zoom SCSI card installed in my computer at the mo., with a
SCSI Zip drive attached to it. This is recognised at boot time, and works
fine.

On page 8 of the SCSI Zip manual, it says "you can connect other SCSI
drives to the Zip drive using another SCSI cable (usually a 25 to 50 pin
cable)". So from this, I guess that I could connect a SCSI tape drive
(say) to the Zip drive, assuming the ID's and terminators are set
correctly. If so, I guess you can attach more than one other device
(perhaps upto 7 to it)? Am I right in thinking this ??? Has any one tried
attaching other devices to a Zip drive hanging off a Zip Zoom card???

If anyone has tried this 'at home', I would be most interested to hear
from them.

Thanks in advance

Will.
