Here are my hardware specs, followed by my problem

Asus a7v/333 board
256 megs 2700 ddr
AMD t-bird 1.1 Ghz
30 gig HD (on IDE-RAID 1)
aopen 12X10X32 CD-RW (on IDE1, master)
generic 16x dvd (on IDE2 master)
iomega zip100 (on ide2 slave)
aopen conexant/rockwell 56k hsf modem (works under Mandrake 8.x with
linmodem driver)
Simpletech SimpleStation PCMCIA to PCI bridge (untested, uses Texas
Instruments chipset)

I am attempting to load RedHat 7.3 onto this pc, to start learning
Linux. I have found drivers for my audio chipset, and for the ide
raid. RedHat will install and boot, but I have no drive icons on the
desktop and can not mount any of the disk drives. During the boot, it
says something about my hard drive not loading properly but that does
not halt the boot process. The Via Southbridge is lso reported as
unrecognized. I am wondering if I can get a link to the appropriate
drivers, I got the raid from gigabyte's driver site, and I used the
rhup-ftb20 file as opposed to the smp version.. I hope this is
correct.

I have a Promise Ultra 100 tx2 ide controller card that I know works
under Mandrake 8.2, but I have not tried it with RedHat, so if I can
use it in a workaround, that would be acceptable. Any help would be
appreciated

I have the same motherboard. Basically, the answer was get Kernel 2.4.19.
I compiled it and it work. I still have a few issues to tweak though.
