hello everyone:
I have 2 windows 98 PCs and a linux pc in a local network.I can see files
on windows PCs from linux by smbclient or smbmount.
But from windows 98,I can only see the name of linux.if I double click the
icon of linux, the screen show "the name is unreachable".
I have setup wins in samba but it can't work well.
who can tell me how can i resolve the problem?

Yeah, reading all the documentation on the samba web site would
do a world of good.

If you are not using webmin (http://www.webmin.com) for your administration
tool I'd highly recommend that you install it. webmin has a very nice web
based samba configuration section. Have you create file shares in order
for windoze to see linux directories. Also make sure that you have the
workgroup set correctly (the default windows workgroup is WORKGROUP). You
might also want to enable the WINS server option. If you use webmin all
this will be quite obvious.
