I'm fiddling around trying to get Debian Linux to install on an IBM
ThinkPad 760CD. I can boot Linux just fine, and walk through the
partitioning phase, but when it asks me to select a floppy device, it can
never see the floppy drive to load the base system.
I've tried /dev/fd0 and /dev/fd1, and tried to mount the floppy manually
from the '#' prompt to no avail. With /dev/fd0 it doesn't even spin the
floppy before complaining that there's no such drive, with /dev/fd1 it
seems to touch the drive, but doesn't like it.
Any thoughts on possible solutions? You can post the reply here or send
Many thanks in advance.
