1. Impressions serial mouse... middle button won't work

I'm having a similar problem.  My mouse is supposedly "Microsoft
Compatible" and I tried just about any possible configuration for it
in the XF86config file.  I get it to work fine as a pointer of type
"Microsoft", but no middle mouse activity.

Is there any way to test whether the middle mouse generates any events
under MS Windows or Windows 95?  How can I verify that it's a mouse
problem as opposed to a Linux/XF86 problem?
