The problem I found is that the SCSI 53C710 couldn't be
detected.

1. Solaris 2.1 for x86 on Siemens Nixdorf PCE-4R

Hi,
I was wondering if anybody had installed Solaris 2.1 for x86 on the Siemens
Nixdorf PCE-4R. I seem to be having problems finding a device driver for the
video adapter provided with this platform. I am informed that the name of the
video card is ErgoVGA3 and has a Western Digital WDC11 chipset. As SNI plaforms
and devices are not on the present Hardware Compatibility Guide for Solaris 2.1
for x86, could someone suggest a compatible device driver from the list enclosed
at the end of the message. If the video adapter in the PCE-4R is in fact
non-compatible with Solaris 2.1 for x86 could someone please suggest an
alternative card from the list below that will work with SNI PCE-4R.
The initial suggestion from the installtion program was for Orchid Prodesigner
II at 72Hz however this did not work upon entering OpenWindows. The best results
were from Western Digital WD90C30/1 at 70Hz. The OpenWindow desktop was
displayed but the picture was shrinked ( resizing the screen size attribute
had no effect ) and the mouse was inactive. All sugestions are appreciated.
