I have an HP Vectra VEi8 PC, with an on-board 16-bit PCI audio CS4280
chip.
Has anyone gotten one of these audio chips to work with linux??
I tried pnpdump, but that does not give me anything except "Trying port
xxx..." over and over and a "No boards found" at the end.
Anyway, correct me if I am wrong, pnpdump is for ISA only, and my sound
chip is PCI, and I do not have any ISA boards on my PC. Hence, the
message "trying port xxxx ... No boards found."
So pnpdump is of no use to me.
The only thing I can see is from /proc/pci:
Bus 0, device 4, function 0:
Multimedia audio controller:Cirrus Logic Unknown device (rev 1).
Vendor id=1013. Device id=6003.
Medium devsel. IRQ 9. Master Capable. Latency=64. Min Gnt=4.Max
Lat=24.
